Travel Credentials

When we first joined YTB, we got confused on all the types of credentials. This blog is intented to inform and clarify any questions one may have on the different travel credentials.

RTA - Routing Travel Agent
Travel credentials that you receive upon buying a travel store through Ytb Travel Network. The RTA credentials are a card identifying you as a travel professional. This card is a photo ID and provides your YTB agent number on it. Once you join Ytb, you will have to take a passport picture and fill out the RTA application which comes with your introduction package from Ytb or you can find the application in your back office under downloads. You are allowed two cards per travel agency.

CRTA-Certified Routing Travel Agent
To become a certified routing travel agent you must first be an RTA. Ytb will hold an all day training course in your area to become certified. The training is very informative, I would highly recommend it to everyone. The cost for the training is $149.00, which they are willing to reimburse if you send 3 personally enrolled RTAs to the training or if you are not 100% satisfied at the end of the seminar they will reimburse the fee. As an CRTA ,you would receive a 10% override on all travel sold by RTAs reffered by your power team reps. Only a certified RTA can apply for the CLIA card. For certification training in your area click here.

CLIA - Cruise Line International Associate Program
In order to receive your CLIA Credentials, you must first be a certified RTA. The CLIA is made up of 29 major cruise liners and they offer training, education, promote and explain the value, desirability and affordability of the cruise vacation experience. Basically you would be trained in many of the different cruise lines, so that you can properly and knowledgably refer potential clients to them. Upon completion of your RTA certification, you must complete and pass a CLIA online training program or CLIA seminar. The cost for this is $35.00.

IATAN - International Airlines Travel Agent Network
The Iatan card is the highest ranking card, in order to obtain a personal IATAN Card you must earn travel commissions of $5,000 in a calendar year. You will be placed on YTB Travel & Cruises IATAN list and issued your card by IATAN. You must qualify in subsequent years with $5,000 in earning

Since YTB had its IATA number revoked, you can no longer earn your IATAN card under YTB.
